FAQs

Consigning is fun, easy and profitable.  Occasionally, we received general questions about the types of items we accept or the terms of our consignment arrangement.  Below are some of our most frequently asked questions.

DO YOU BUY CLOTHES UP FRONT? No. We take items on consignment. It is a 90 day consignment period and once your item sells you receive a check within 30 days.

 

WHAT DAYS DO YOU ACCEPT ITEMS?  Tuesday - Friday 10:00-2:00 and Saturday 10:00-4:00.

 

DO I HAVE TO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT? Yes. To ensure that we have ample time to look over your items. No appointments needed for our Drop Off Service. 

 

WHAT TYPES OF ITEMS DO YOU ACCEPT? Generally upscale, designer clothes, jeans, jewelry, handbags, and other unique items. As well as formals and cocktail dresses. (we also love rare vintage items)

 

WHEN SHOULD I BRING MY FORMALS/COCKTAILS? Please bring your short cocktail dresses in late July thru September, and your long formals at the beginning of December thru February.

 

HOW DOES YOUR CONSIGNMENT WORK? You bring your items to us and we take what we can on a 90 day consignment. We research and price everything at approximately half off of retail. Items reduce by 20% every 30 days and at the end of the 90 days, if your item didn’t sell, you’ll have 10 days to pick it up or it will automatically be donated. If your item does sell, we will mail you a check within 30 days.

 

ANY OTHER THINGS I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOUR CONSIGNMENT? We just ask that things are in season, current styles, clean, and in good condition, ready to sell.

 

WILL YOU PICK UP AT MY HOUSE? Our Swap staff does regular pickups for our clients who have a special selection of our sought after labels. Brands such as Chanel, Chloe, Gucci, Lanvin, Hermes, Chrisitian Louboutin, and Louis Vuitton are all specialty labels. Please call us to discuss the items that you are considering for pick up.

 

WILL YOU GIVE ME A LIST OF ITEMS I DROPPED OFF FOR CONSIGNMENT?

A list can be emailed to the consignor, PER REQUEST, once the items are processed. This could take up to a few days.

 

IF I HAVE ITEMS THAT DO NOT SELL, DO I GET THEM BACK?

Yes. After the 90 day consignment period, there is an immediate 2 week time frame in which a consignor can retrieve any unsold items. A 24 hour advance notice before pickup is required so that 4 The Love Of Curves Boutique has time to pull and pack any unsold items for you.

 

DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE CONSIGNMENT PERIOD TO GET MY CHECK?

No. Once a consignor has earned $40 or more, a check can be collected.

 

DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MY CONSIGNMENT PERIOD HAS ENDED TO REDEEM MY STORE CREDIT?

You can use any balance in your account as in store credit at any time. You never have to wait.

 

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A CHECK TO BE MAILED TO ME?

Yes. For a $1 service charge, a check can be mailed to a consignor, upon request, once the account reaches $5 or more.

 

DO I HAVE TO COLLECT MY MONEY BY A CERTAIN TIME? IF NOT DO I LOSE IT?

Money earned by a consignor never expires. It is held in the consignor’s account until it is redeemed with no time limits.
